“The Emerald Crush” Professional Handmade Pen (Oblique)

Oh man, I love the looks of this one!  I used a beautiful acrylic for the green/black foot of the pen, and exotic Brazilian Ebony wood for the sleek, black handle.  I added a green band, flanked by green/white inlaid stripes on either side of the “band”. I love the way the green “chips” in the acrylic shimmer when the pen is tilted in the light.  And it feels sooooo good in the hand.  I test drove it for a few words, and it feels 0h-so-good in the hand!  You will love this remarkable, eye-catching pen!

Well, this is sort of a “concept pen” design that I came up with.  This is a fairly long pen, and is quite an eye-catcher.  It really feels nice in the hand, and is definitely professional caliber, no doubt about that.  But I designed it to be visually spectacular, and I wanted it to be a pen that you just don’t see everyday.  Something really unique and special, yet functionally excellent.  So, this is what I came up with…what I think is a very cool, “attention-getting” calligraphy pen.  This thing was so much work, so there probably won’t be another one…at least not at this price.  haha!  It is a one-off.  Picture this pen laying on your calligraphy desk; perhaps next to your paper…it has the looks of an Emperor’s pen.  This isn’t the kind of pen that you can just slip into your purse or pocket…it is too long and too elegant for that.  :-). The pen is made of a super hard white resin (with a teeny bit of iridescence).  I capped the top and the bottom of the white resin with black acrylic) to protect the white resin of the pen from becoming stained from inks/paints.  And the handle I made of redheart wood, but I ebonized it so that it is jet-black.  When everything is put together, this is a memorable pen; the kind of pen that you don’t ever forget, once you’ve seen it.  It’s one-of-a-kind, and I have no plans of repeating it, so if you like it…grab it.  🙂

If ink or gouache dries on this finish, you can wipe it off with a damp rag, or for stubborn cases, you can literally scrape it off with your fingernail.
